On-Site Training Opportunities

If you have a group of physicians, nurses, physician assistants, advanced practice nurses, pharmacists, dentists or other professionals that would like a customized program delivered to your site, the NY/NJ AETC can help.

To request a training call the AETC Central Office at (212) 304-5530 or your local Training Partner coordinator. Provide us with information necessary to develop the right training to fit your need, audience, training modality, time and place.  Ask us about the potential of your site becoming an AETC Longitudinal Training Site.

Our training programs are available in the following formats.  Working to fulfill our mission of training and educating health care professionals, the NY/NJ AETC offers 5 levels of training:

Level I - Didactic Presentations

Level II - Skills Building

These lecture-type presentations may also include panel discussions, self-instructional materials, journal clubs and conferences. Program lengths vary from brief lectures to full-day conferences.

These interactive, skills-building activities may include discussion of cases supplied by the trainer, role-play, simulated patient-provider workshops and train-the-trainer models.

Level III - Clinical Training

Level IV - Clinical Guidance

These interactive training programs put the participant in touch with actual clinical care experiences with patients. Activities may include preceptorships, ‘mini-residencies,’ or observation of clinical care.

For patient-specific clinical guidance, specialists throughout the NY/NJ AETC region are available by telephone, email, or in person. Clinical consultations and discussion of cases supplied by the participant/trainee make this program extremely rich in learning and experience.

The NY/NJ AETC is partnering with the HRSA/AETC National HIV/AIDS Clinician’s Consultation Center which includes the Warmline (800-933-3413), and PEPline (888-HIV-4911), clinical guidance services that are staffed 24 hours a day.

Level V - Technical Assistance

As part of our ongoing support services, the NY/NJ AETC offers resources, guidance and assistance to improve HIV service delivery and performance at an organizational level. Technical assistance can be tailored to meet a specific need or request.
